To accomodate the broad spectrum of absorption characteristics of skin, Fotona has combined the Nd:YAG and KTP Nd:YAG lasers for vascular and pigmented lesion treatments. KTP Nd:YAG laser light energy is strongly absorbed in oxyhemoglobin and melanin and targets smaller, superficial blood vessels and pigmented lesions. The homogeneously absorbed Nd:YAG laser penetrates deeper into the skin and is perfectly suited for treating both superficial and larger, deeper vascular lesions.
